Course objectives
The course examines the historical development of women in Cuba, from
slavery to the Revolution. Instructors include some of Cubans most prestigious
professors and women leaders, each presenting seminars in their areas of expertise. A
comprehensive range of topics will be covered including women in education, religion, the
military, the arts, industry, professionalism, and a number of other significant subjects
such as domestic relations and family law. The class also includes three field trips to
places of particular interest to the course.
