Mesa-Lago Quoted in Caracas Newspaper

Distinguished Greenleaf Visiting Professor in Latin American Studies, Carmelo Mesa-Lago, was recently quoted extensively for the article “Venezuela pays USD 5.6 billion for Cuban staff in 2008” which appeared on October 5 in the Caracas newspaper El Universal. The article addresses Venezuelan / Cuban relations and the recent data that shows that the Bolivarian government is the top subsidizer of Cuba’s economy.
